What happens if you don't rinse off after Epsom salt bath?If you decide not to rinse off afterwards, your body may benefit for longer from the purported healing properties of the salt. However, Epsom salts can sometimes have a drying effect, so you may want to have a quick rinse off afterwards, especially if you have dry skin anyway.  Salt detox baths are usually made of Epsom salt, which allows for minerals to “draw out” toxins from the body.

Some side effects of bath salts misuse include:

Can you soak too long in Epsom salt? For most people, an Epsom bath foot soak is safe. But there are a few instances when it is best to talk to a healthcare provider before using. For example, people that have very dry skin should avoid overdoing foot soaks because the salt can dry out the skin leaving the feet more prone to cracks. 

Detox Baths
Epsom salt soaks are another fabulous method for lymphatic detoxing. To start use two cups of Epsom salts and one cup of baking soda in water. Soak for no longer than twenty minutes. The minerals help release toxins from the body and improve overall circulation. 

What are the proven benefits of bath salts? This health-promoting ritual soothes the muscles, hydrates the skin, detoxifies the body, and relieves internal swelling. The macro and trace minerals found in salts are necessary for our health and can actually be drawn into the bloodstream during a warm bath, which can help to balance out the entire body. 

Why do I feel better after a salt bath? Eases stress and relaxes the body

When dissolved in warm water, Epsom salt is absorbed through the skin and replenishes the level of magnesium in the body. The magnesium helps to produce serotonin, a mood-elevating chemical within the brain that creates a feeling of calm and relaxation. 

Who should not soak feet in Epsom salt? Epsom salt is a mineral compound with many different uses, but people with diabetes should avoid using it. No form of foot soak is appropriate for individuals with diabetes. People use Epsom salt as a home remedy for various health issues. 

How long should you sit in a salt bath? How many times a week should I take a salt bath?

Three (3) times a week to get the most out of your Epsom salt bath, consider adding this to your bath three times a week. For your comfort, eat right before or after the bath and be sure to drink water in the time around your bath to keep yourself hydrated. While Epsom salt hydrates your skin, it can dehydrate you to varying degrees.

Why do I feel dizzy after a hot bath? If the water's too hot in a bath or hot tub, your blood pressure may dip too low, which can make you feel dizzy or lightheaded, he explains. By low, it means a systolic pressure (the first number in a reading) around 110 mm Hg or lower. "A water temperature of 100° to 105° F is reasonable.

FDA:

Are Essential Oils FDA-Approved? The FDA does not regulate essential oils, just like it doesn't regulate herbs or supplements. That means that there is no FDA approval for any essential oil. It also means that there are no real regulations on the companies that produce essential oils. 

Always read the product descriptions, product cards, and labels. Pay attention to any specific warnings on your essential oil packaging and adhere to any recommendations provided by the manufacturer. 

• Avoid certain areas. Avoid putting oils into your nose, inner ears, eyes, broken skin, or other sensitive areas.   
• Talk to a healthcare professional. If you have specific health concerns, consult with your doctor before using essential oils.
• Supervise young children. Always supervise essential oil application with your children. Because children have more delicate skin, it’s a good idea to dilute oils before applying them topically. Try applying the oil to the bottom of a child’s feet before you try other areas. In addition to safe storage practices, you can also use Child Resistant Caps to ensure that your children don’t accidentally ingest oils on their own.  
• Practice safe storage. Make sure to store essential oils out of reach of children. This measure will help prevent accidental ingestion. You’ll also want to keep your oils away from excessive light or heat, as this can alter the chemical properties of an essential oil significantly. 
• Be careful of sun sensitivity. Some essential oils can pose a risk for sun sensitivity, particularly citrus oils. Some of these oils include Bergamot, Green Mandarin, Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime, Tangerine, Wild Orange, and any essential oil blends that contain these oils. Again, this is not an exhaustive list. Before applying an essential oil topically, check the label for any sun sensitivity warnings. Avoid direct sunlight or UV rays for at least 12 hours following the use of these oils on the skin (this includes tanning beds).

Sensitivity to an essential oil can cause responses in the skin, digestive system, respiratory system, and other areas of the body.

Signs of an essential oil sensitivity or allergic reaction include:

• Pain, swelling, or tenderness in the skin
• Skin irritation (such as itching, rash, or hives)
• Difficulty breathing
• Stomach upset

If you experience any of the symptoms listed above, it’s important to stop using that essential oil immediately so that you don’t make the reaction worse. It’s advisable to take a break from the application method that caused the reaction (for example, if you have a skin reaction, avoid topical use for a while) and choose other ways to enjoy the benefits of the oil.

Essential oils are safe to use, as long as the appropriate dosage and application methods are observed. In the most extreme cases, exceeding dosage recommendations for oils can lead to toxicity. Toxicity is when a substance reaches a point that it becomes harmful or damaging to the body. Any substance can become toxic if used in an inappropriate dose. Even natural, seemingly harmless substances like water, minerals, or vitamins, can become toxic when used or consumed in excess.

If you develop a sensitivity to an essential oil, you can make a few adjustments to avoid further sensitivity or discomfort. Since sensitivity to an essential oil isn’t the same as an allergic reaction, you may still be able to use that essential oil with a different form of application.

For example, if you experience sensitivity after using an essential oil internally, you may still be able to use it aromatically or topically. Essential oil sensitivity can also be caused by dosage. If you’ve experienced sensitivity with a particular essential oil in the past, you might try diluting the oil, or simply taking a smaller dose to see if the sensitivity was caused by a higher dosage.

Aromatic essential oil sensitivity

If a reaction occurs from inhaling a diffused essential oil, immediately turn off the diffuser and remove yourself from the area of diffusion. If leaving the area is not possible, increase air circulation by opening a window or air vent. Seek medical attention if the sensitivity is severe or prolonged, or if breathing becomes difficult.

Topical essential oil sensitivity

If a reaction occurs on the skin, discontinue use immediately. The irritated area can be soothed with a carrier oil such as Fractionated Coconut Oil. Gently wipe the area with a soft cloth to draw out and remove as much essential oil as possible. Alternate between adding coconut oil and gently wiping the area. The skin will need time to calm down, which may take hours, days, or weeks, depending on the severity of your body’s sensitivity response, as well as amount of oil used. Seek immediate medical attention if the sensitivity reaction is severe or worsens over time.

If the reaction occurs in the eye, immediately rinse it. Because essential oils are not water soluble, water will not be effective for removing the essential oil. Fat-containing milk (not skim milk) is a great alternative. The eye should be flushed multiple times until irritation ceases. Then seek medical attention from a trained professional to ensure no long-term damage has occurred.

Internal essential oil sensitivity

If a reaction occurs in the digestive system, immediately discontinue use. Signs of a digestive system reaction include abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. If a large amount of oil was consumed, contact poison control immediately. If only a small amount was consumed, drink plenty of fluids—preferably milk or another fat-containing drink—to minimize the upset. Seek medical attention if the reaction is severe or prolonged.

It’s important to remember that pure essential oils are very potent and that each individual will have a different reaction to each oil. For this reason, it is best to follow usage recommendations on the oil bottle or packaging. In most cases, it is best to start with a single drop and slowly increase the amount over time.

The amount of essential oil you use will depend greatly on your own personal health status and your level of experience with essential oils. To remain within the parameters of safe usage, always consider the advice of your healthcare provider before using essential oils. When using an essential oil, always follow the proper usage guidelines to help you prevent overwhelming the body with incorrect essential oil levels.

Candle and Fire Safety

A study by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission suggests that 85 percent of candle fires could be avoided if consumers followed three basic safety rules:

• Never leave a burning candle unattended.
• Never burn a candle on or near anything that might catch fire.
• Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets. 

• Before burning, always trim the wick to ¼ inch. You can use a wick trimmer, nail clippers, or scissors. Long or crooked wicks can cause uneven burning, dripping or flaring.
• Keep the wax pool clear of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times.
• Always use a candleholder specifically designed for candle use. It should be heat resistant, sturdy, and large enough to contain any drips or melted wax.

• Avoid drafts, vents or air currents. This will help prevent rapid or uneven burning, sooting, and excessive dripping.
• Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations on burn time and proper use. In general, it is recommended that candles do not burn for longer than four hours and cool for at least two hours before relighting.
• When lighting a candle, use long matches or a long-reach lighter. Keep your hair and loose clothing away from the flame.

• Never leave a candle unattended.
• Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire. Keep burning candles away from furniture, drapes, bedding, carpets, books, paper, flammable decorations, etc.
• Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets. Do not place lighted candles where they can be knocked over by children, pets or anyone else.
• Never touch or move a candle while it is burning or while the wax is liquefied.
• Don’t burn a candle all the way down. For a margin of safety, discontinue burning a candle when 1/2 inch remains in the container or 2 inches if using a pillar candle.
• Place burning candles at least three inches apart from one another. This is to make sure they don’t melt one another, or create their own drafts that will cause the candles to burn improperly.
• Extinguish a candle if the flame becomes too high or flickers repeatedly. Let the candle cool, trim the wick, and check for unwanted drafts before re-lighting.
• Never use a candle as a night light or while you may fall asleep.
• Be very careful if using candles during a power outage. Flashlights and other battery-powered lights are safer sources of light during a power failure. Never use a candle during a power outage to look for things in a closet, or when fueling equipment – such as a lantern or kerosene heater.

• Use a candle snuffer to extinguish a candle. It’s the safest way to prevent hot wax from splattering.
• Never use water to extinguish a candle. Water can cause the hot wax to splatter and might break a glass container.
• Make sure the candle is completely out and the wick ember is no longer glowing before leaving the room.
• Don’t touch or move the candle until it has completely cooled.
• Never use a knife or sharp object to remove wax drippings from a glass holder. It might scratch, weaken, or cause the glass to break upon subsequent use.

For change of delivery address requests, we are able to change the address at any time before the order has been dispatched to the Fulfillment team (a tracking number has been applied to the order). 4.5 P.O. Box Shipping

Black Glory Design Group, LLC will ship to P.O. box addresses using postal services only. We are unable to offer couriers services to these locations.

4.6 Military Address Shipping

We are able to ship to military addresses using USPS. We are unable to offer this service using courier services.

4.7 Items Out Of Stock

The processing time will change to "delayed". If an item is out of stock, we will wait for the item to be available before dispatching your order.  Existing items in the order will be reserved while we await this item.

4.8 Delivery Time Exceeded

5. Tracking Notifications

Upon Fulfillment dispatch, customers will receive a tracking number from which they will be able to follow the progress of their shipment based on the latest updates made available by the shipping provider.

6. Parcels Damaged In Transit

If you find a parcel is damaged in-transit, please take pictures of the box, shipping label and product item(s) and then notify us at hello@blackgloryblackglorydesigngroup.com. If the parcel has been delivered without you being present, follow the above steps, also and please contact us for next steps.

7. Duties & Taxes

7.1 Sales Tax

Sales tax has already been applied to the price of the goods as displayed on the website.

7.2 Import Duties & Taxes - CANADA 🍁 

Import duties and taxes for international shipments may be liable to be paid upon arrival in destination country. This varies by country, and encourage you to be aware of these potential costs before placing an order with us.

If you refuse to to pay duties and taxes upon arrival at your destination country, the goods will be returned to at the customers expense, and the customer will receive a refund for the value of goods paid, minus the cost of the return shipping. The cost of the initial shipping will not be refunded.

Our warehouse operates on Monday - Friday during standard business hours, except on Federal, national holidays and office closures, at which time the warehouse will be closed. In these instances, we take steps to ensure shipment delays will be kept to a minimum.

4.4 Change Of Delivery Address

For change of delivery address requests, we are able to change the address at any time before the order has been dispatched to the Fulfillment team (a tracking number has been applied to the order). 4.5 P.O. Box Shipping

Black Glory Design Group, LLC will ship to P.O. box addresses using postal services only. We are unable to offer couriers services to these locations.

4.6 Military Address Shipping

We are able to ship to military addresses using USPS. We are unable to offer this service using courier services.

4.7 Items Out Of Stock

The processing time will change to "delayed". If an item is out of stock, we will wait for the item to be available before dispatching your order.  Existing items in the order will be reserved while we await this item.

4.8 Delivery Time Exceeded

5. Tracking Notifications

Upon Fulfillment dispatch, customers will receive a tracking number from which they will be able to follow the progress of their shipment based on the latest updates made available by the shipping provider.

6. Parcels Damaged In Transit

If you find a parcel is damaged in-transit, please take pictures of the box, shipping label and product item(s) and then notify us at hello@blackgloryblackglorydesigngroup.com. If the parcel has been delivered without you being present, follow the above steps, also and please contact us for next steps.

7. Duties & Taxes

7.1 Sales Tax

Sales tax has already been applied to the price of the goods as displayed on the website.

7.2 Import Duties & Taxes - CANADA 🍁 

Import duties and taxes for international shipments may be liable to be paid upon arrival in destination country. This varies by country, and encourage you to be aware of these potential costs before placing an order with us.

If you refuse to to pay duties and taxes upon arrival at your destination country, the goods will be returned to at the customers expense, and the customer will receive a refund for the value of goods paid, minus the cost of the return shipping. The cost of the initial shipping will not be refunded.

8. Cancellations

If you change your mind before you have received your order, we are able to accept cancellations "only" at the time before the order has been dispatched to our Fulfillment team (where a mail tracking number has been issued for your order). If an order has already been dispatched to the Fulfillment team and a mail tracking number has been issued for your order, please refer to our returns/refund policy.

Parcels are insured for loss and damage up to the value as stated by the mail provider/courier (USPS).
